There is only one flight from Capital Airport to Yaoqiang Airport (Flight time 20:35-21:45), so line 1 is recommended.

o      Taxi service is available all day from Capital International Airport.

o      The cost from the airport to the BeijingNan train station is about 18-20 USD, or RMB 100-120 enclosed the extra highway fee 10 CNY/car. Please do ask for the receipt from the driver. Payment should be made in RMB cash. You can use the ATM's or bank offices at the airport to exchange currency. It is not customary to tip drivers.

o      And then you could take the train(about between 9:00-20:30, about 1 hour 50 minutes, the average interval is 20 minutes)to JiNanXi train station. 

o      During the meeting, there will be bus from Jinan Yaoqiang Airport and JiNanXi train station to the E Jiao cultural Theme Hotel. Specific bus time is announced before the conference.

o      The taxi cost from Capital International Airport to the hotel is about 170-180 USD, or RMB 1200-1300, about 5 hours 30 mins.


Travel Reminders


Due to the constantly changing nature of travel, we urge people to research their own travel requirements, including Passport and Visa requirements, documentation for re-entry into country of residence, and any other identification needed, and allow sufficient time in advance of the meeting for processing of such documentation. Be sure to confirm air and hotel arrangements at least 24 hours in advance of departure. As a reminder, never leave your wallet and passport unattended while traveling, and have xerox copies of all identification and credit cards in case of theft of originals. 

Who Needs a Visa? 


Non-Chinese residents may need a visa to enter China for this symposium. If you already have a visa to China, check the expiration date to ensure that your visa will not expire before or during your planned travel dates.


Obtaining a Visa 


After identifying that a visa is needed, foreign travelers should contact the China Embassy Consular Section in their country to determine visa processing time frames. For up-to-date information, access the http://chinavisacenter.org/ website, an official source of information about China visa policy and procedures.

A letter of invitation does not guarantee issuance of a visa. The decision to issue a visa is the sole judgment of the local China Embassy or Consulate. The Society is unable to assist with actual visa processing.

ISDS2017 meeting cannot provide any financial support for travel, registration fees, or local expenses.


Arrival in Beijing

Weather 


August is the hot month for weather conditions in Dong'e County. Typically, it is hot and more than a shower just the perfect time to stay. The average highest temperature in Dong'e County in August is 30°C and the average lowest temperature is Dong'e County


Currency Exchange


The currency in circulation in China is the Chinese yuan, or RMB yuan, whose international standard abbreviation sign is CNY. 1 CNY consists of 10 jiao (dimes) or 100 fen (cents). The denominations of the Chinese yuan in bank notes are 1, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 CNY. Participants can exchange their currencies at airports, major hotels and banks in China. The exchange rate will be given daily by the Bank of China. Currently, 1 USD can be exchanged for about 6.12 CNY. All currency exchange receipts should be saved in case participants want to exchange RMB back to their own currency. Banks may demand to see the original exchange receipt.


Credit Cards & ATM


Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club and JCB are accepted in many department stores and hotels. ATMs may be of use in obtaining RMB with your credit card. The amount debited from your account will vary due to fluctuations in the exchange rate. There is normally a 4% additional bank charge.

Water


It is not recommended to directly drink the water from the tap in your hotel room. If you want to drink cold water, it is best to order or buy bottled water. Upon request, hotels will provide containers of hot or chilled drinking water in the sleeping rooms at no extra cost. Hotels will also provide an electrically heated kettle to boil water from the tap in your room. This advice also applies to your pre-conference or post-conference travel in others cities in China, such as Beijing, Xi'an, Guilin and Shanghai. Some hotels also provide a special tap in the lavatory that delivers a flow of purified water for drinking or taking medications. 


Smoking Policy


Please note that smoking is prohibited within the conference premises.


Customs


Information about Chinese Customs is available from your local Chinese Embassy or consulting your travel agency.


Insurance


The Symposium Organizers recommend participants to possess travel, property, medical or other necessary insurances before coming to China. The 2017 ISDS Symposium Organizers are not responsible for the costs resulting from personal accidents or property loss during the symposium.


Voltage, Socket and Plugs 


The electrical current in China is 220-volts, 50Hz A/C. The hotel provides wall sockets in every room, accommodating both the standard “Flat blade attachment plug (Type A)” and common “Oblique flat blades with ground (inverted V) plug (Type I)” as well as the not-so-common “Round pin attachment plug (Type C)”as shown in the following photographs.

Language


The conference working language is English and Chinese.


Poster Display Board


Each poster presenter will be provided with a vertical surface to mount their poster. Each board will host one poster, and the recommended size of poster is 120 cm (in height) by 90 cm (in width).


Duplication, Recording


Without permission from speakers, taking photographs, audio-taping, video-recording, digital taping and any other forms of duplication are strictly prohibited in the meeting rooms and poster areas.


Cell Phones


Participants are kindly requested to turn off their cell phones or keep the cell phones in vibration state when entering the meeting rooms and in the poster areas.


Children


For safety reasons, children under the age of 12 are not permitted in poster zones, or conference rooms.
